George Long Counselling

A space for you to feel seen & heard.

Counselling in central Exeter and online

I'm currently on maternity leave until the autumn.

My current plan is to return to sessions in October, but this may change as it approaches.

If you would like to be contacted upon my return, please let me know via email and I'll be in touch closer to the time.

Are you feeling stuck?
Overwhelmed?
Unable to cope with your day-to-day?

Sometimes events in our life have left us with certain thoughts or behaviours which can end up holding us back.

We can feel stuck in what seems like an eternal loop, doomed to repeat the same experiences, or just to stay exactly where we are.

With counselling we can explore how and why you've learned to respond the way you do and explore new ways of being. You can learn to identify your needs and how to meet them, so you can move towards a more fulfilling life.

How I work

I provide a gentle and supportive environment where you can bring whatever you need to our sessions. I aim to help facilitate an exploration of your experiences and emotions. By providing a safe space for you to work through any unresolved feelings, and experience the changes this can bring about, you're able to step closer to who you truly are.

I work integratively with a strong base in the person-centred approach incorporating creativity and somatic bodywork. I feel this allows us to further explore aspects of your experiences that you may not be fully aware of by connecting with different parts of yourself.

I'm fully qualified and insured. I am a Registered Member of the BACP and as such, I adhere to their ethical framework, ensuring my practice is safe, ethical and prioritises my clients' wellbeing.

What I can help with

I can help with a wide variety of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, control, confidence, self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, entry into adulthood and more.

I have a particular interest in those suffering from anxiety in an academic or work setting, those entering adulthood, bereavement by suicide and those who have left an abusive or controlling relationship.

The Practical Bits

I offer weekly sessions that last 1 hour at £60, either online or in person at my practice in Southernhay, central Exeter.

Depending on your needs and availability I can offer short-term or long-term work.

For students or those on low income, I offer a limited number of sessions at a reduced rate.
